S1 E1 • Episode 1

November, 1916. Young Eugeniusz Bohdan Junod is preparing for the matura exam. In his free time, he goes to theatre URANIA, that belongs to his father. Also love to Ada distracts him from learning. One day, when things at school get complicated and realtionship with Ada turns out to be one-sided, Bohgdan decides to realise a dream about being a great actor.

Eugene is trying to start a acting career in Warsaw. It turns out to be very difficult and instead to the theater, Eugeniusz ends in a homeless shelter. He does not give up and still fight for his dreams. He gets unexpected help from young actor Karol Hanusz, that he met in cafe.

Eugeniusz gets a job as a ticket seller in Theatre Apollo, Poznań. His free time he spends on watching rehearsals. Upon the advice of Nina, Eugeniusz starts a dance and singing lessons led by an old actor. Soon he gets a chance to debut on stage.

It's been two years. Desperate Eugeniusz lives in Pabianice near Łódź, where he plays in the local saloons. The city is plunged in the Spanish flu epidemic. Eugeniusz with his parents moves to Warsaw and with even greater determination he begin the fight for success on the stage.
