S4 E1 • Go-Cart Terror

Two guys are stealing office equipment and furniture. Go-carts are terrorizing the streets. When a go-cart swerves in front of a van, it dives into a lake and immediately sinks to the bottom.

Jon and Ponch try to help their fellow officer Andy, who is deadly sick. Andy want's to die as hero during duty and often does silly, dangerous things. Jon and Ponch are sent by the Sarge to have a look on Andy. Andy's son is very sad and disappointed that he finds no way to talk serieoulsy with his dad. A bad accident makes Andy's life an end but he can die as hero. All in all a very sad episode with a bit hope at the end.

Jon and Ponch are chasing motorcycle and car thieves. They can't catch them as they're protected by Andy Macedon, an old enemy from Ponch. Bear is hit by Andy's protegé, only drawing his weapon saves his life. Finaly there is a big fight between Andy and Ponch but Andy does not fight fair.

Martin Beck and his dead brothers wife tries to kill Jon and Ponch.' This man attacks Jon with his van and Jon get's injured. He hides several bombs in Ponchs car, his motorbike and at least in an empty car on a field. The new guy TC is always a step before the other CHP officers, so he has problems to get fellows there. TC safes Jon and Ponchs life more than once.

Lyle Pickett a Vietnam Verteran threats Pete, Barry's Dad, who has a flying school. When Pete get hurt with his back, Barry has to help his mum. But he's also an officer and has to do his work, too. On duty he sleeps and has nearly a crash with Turner, so he decides to quit the Highway Patrol and to take over his fathers firm. Lyle threats all who use a remedy against insects on their fields. Ponch finds on a destroyed field a campsite receipt. When he follows up, he meets up with Shawna, Lyle's campsite neighbour. Shawna tells what she is knowing, so Jon and Ponch visit the V.A. Hospital. The V.A. doctor says that Lyle is menatlly disturbed since he left Vietnam. Barry is not happy doing his new job. When Jon and Ponch visits him, Lyle shows up bearing Molotov Cocktails out of his truck. Jon and Ponch start to follow him by motorbike, Pete with his own truck and Bear by biplane.
