When his pleading fails, he obtains the drug from another source and tries to end his mental anguish forever.

At length he succeeds in battering down her door, and finds that she has been sexually violated by her ex-boyfriend, Wayne Trent. Kiley takes Susan to the hospital. Later, he goes after Trent, who in attempting to flee, is seriously injured when his car crashes into a concrete pillar.
