S6 E1 • A Secret Marriage & Sister Wives Unseen

In the season premiere, Meri receives confirmation that her legal divorce with Kody is finalized. Kody and Robyn then plan to get their marriage license, but debate arises regarding whether or not the rest of the family should be involved. Also, Janelle asks Meri to attend family counseling with her, in an effort to work on their long-standing struggles, but there is doubt about whether Meri will be willing to do so. In a follow-up "tell all" episode, Tamron Hall reviews footage from previous interviews with the Brown family, covering topics such as jealousy; leadership; Kody's hair; finances and the family business; viewer questions; the teenagers' views on relationships and dating; spending time with the kids; co-parenting; public displays of affection; the public perception of plural marriage; and what the future will hold for the Brown family.

Meri gets emotional when she tries to tell Robyn's kids about legally divorcing Kody so that Kody can adopt them. Also, the family attends Hunter's wrestling match, which may affect his college career. Finally, Kody contemplates his relationships with his children, including how to be closer with his daughters.
