This journey begins at Seville, the capital of the Andalusia region. We then head south towards the coast and the ancient harbour city of Cadiz. From there it is east to the rocky peninsula of Gibraltar, before turning north up the Costa del Sol to the resort towns of Marbella and then Fuengirola. Inland from the coast is the hilltop village of Alora with its white washed houses standing out against the arid landscape. From there it's just a short distance to the spectacular rock formations in the El Torcal Park.

This journey begins crossing the English Channel, one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world, before arriving at the Channel Islands. The first is Alderney, which were once the world's most fortified islands. From there it's south, past dangerous rocks on the Casquets, to Guernsey, the second largest island in the group, with its capital St Peter Port on the east coast. Continuing east, and past small islands, is Sark, still home to ancient laws and parliament. And between Sark and the French coast is Jersey, and its capital St Hellier. This journey ends on the low lying, and very dangerous rocks, of the Minquiers, known as the Minkies.

This journey begins in northern Italy at Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet before heading east past vineyards and castles to the cultural jewel of Padua. From there it is east along the Brenta canal to the Venetian Lagoon and Venice, one of the one most famous cities in the world, which has stood for over 1,500 years. North of the city are the southern foothills of the Alps and a whole series of historic villas around Asolo. The journey ends at Vicenza, the home of one of the greatest late renaissance architects, whose buildings in the city have influenced architecture around the world for centuries.

This journey begins in the open grassland around Spearfish on the west side of the state before heading south into the Black Hills National Forest and the cowboy town of Deadwood with its surrounding goldmines. At Sturgis we look at the National Military Cemetery, as well as Fort Meade, which has a history stretching back to the early 19th century. To the south is Rapid City, the second largest conurbation in South Dakota, and a centre for tourism, because nearby is one of the most popular attractions in the whole of the United States, Mount Rushmore, with its four president's faces carved into the mountain top.

This journey starts at the historic town of Williamsburg before moving on to the James River and the plantation houses along its banks. Downstream is Jamestown, where early English settlers arrived in the 17th century. From there, to the important historical site of Yorktown and the English surrender to George Washington at the end of the War of Independence. To the south is Hampton and the enormous Fort Munroe. Across the estuary is Norfolk, the largest naval base in the world. On the coast is the popular resort of Virginia Beach, overlooking the entrance to Chesapeake Bay. This journey ends along the wild Peninsula of creeks and marshes at Assateague Island and its wild horses.

This journey begins at Myrtle Beach in the north-east corner of the state where we follow the resort coastline before turning inland across forest and farmland towards one of America's best known road houses - South of the Border. From there we fly to the Congaree National Park, and neighbouring Columbia, the capital of South Carolina. Along the north of the state towards Greenville new industries have replaced what was once the centre for cotton manufacture. Then it is on to Table Rock State Park before heading south-west along the edge of the Appalachian Mountains to Lake Keowee. From there we take a look at Woodburn Plantation, an historic fort at Ninety Six before ending the journey at the beautiful Strom Thurmond Lake.

This journey begins at Mizen Head in the south-west corner of Ireland. It then follows the rugged coastline past towers and lighthouses before turning inland to the world-famous Blarney Castle, where kissing a stone is said to bring luck. To the south is Cork, the second largest city in the republic, which sits at the head of one of the world's largest natural harbours. Inland and across the Knockmealdown Mountains are a remarkable group of medieval buildings and abbey on the Rock of Cashel. The journey continues south-east down the River Suir to Waterford, once the home of crystal glassmaking. Along the coast is Wexford, where a turn north towards the Wicklow Mountains leads to the final destination, at one of Ireland's most beautiful estates: Powerscourt.

A Saint-Nazaire, la Loire se jette dans l'océan Atlantique. Ce périple, qui remonte le cours du fleuve royal jusqu'à Chambord, permet de découvrir le patrimoine qui parsème ses rives. On fait ensuite un détour au nord, vers le château de Fontainebleau, puis vers Vaux-le-Vicomte, qui provoqua, au XVIIe siecle, la jalousie de Louis XIV, le Roi Soleil. L'ouvrage, voulu par Nicolas Fouquet, était si magnifique que le monarque finit par obtenir la disgrâce de son fidèle serviteur. Celui-ci fut même emprisonné et mourut dans des conditions qui restent, aujourd'hui encore, mystérieuses. D'autres châteaux, tout aussi somptueux, émaillent cette visite guidée.

This journey crosses part of Bavaria, the largest of Germany's 16 states. Flying over forests and farmlands we find Bayreuth, the home of Wagner's grand operas. We travel to historic Nuremberg, the city that witnessed both the rise and fall of the Nazis. Then it's east along one of the greatest waterways in the world, the Danube. On its banks is Walhalle, Germany's answer to Athens' Parthonon. Close to the Austrian border is the sleepy village of Marktl, birthplace of Pope Benedict the sixteenth. We finally arrive at Munich, in time to join the biggest beer festival in the world, Oktoberfest.

Au carrefour de l'Europe, la Belgique est un pays récent constitué autour de plusieurs communautés linguistiques. Ce voyage débute au sud-est du pays, à Bouillon, où Godefroy, son seigneur, fit construire une forteresse médiévale. Il se poursuit par un survol de l'Abbaye de Dinant, puis de la région industrielle de Charleroi et de la fameuse plaine de Waterloo. Il s'achève par une visite de Bruxelles, capitale du pays et de l'Europe
