Les samples utilisés peuvent provenir de différentes missions. Le compte à rebours semble correspondre à celui utilisé pour les lanceurs Titan-II durant les missions Gemini (1961-1966). À préciser.

Contexte de l'extrait utilisé dans le morceau:
Conversation radiophonique entre le président américain Richard Nixon, depuis le bureau ovale de la Maison Blanche, et Neil Armstrong, depuis la surface de la lune, après l'alunissage historique. Seule une partie de la tirade de Nixon est samplée dans le morceau, et lui donne son titre: "to bring peace and tranquility to Earth".
Un autre court sample (issu d'une mission spatiale américaine?) est audible: "Alright sir, go ahead"

Nixon: "Hello, Neil and Buzz. I'm talking to you by telephone from the Oval Room at the White House. And this certainly has to be the most historic telephone call ever made. En route pour la Lune avec l'équipage qu'il commande, Eugene Cernan décrit pour le contrôle mission l'observation d'un objet non-identifié visible à l'extérieur de la capsule.

Transcription:
“Hey Bob I’m looking at what Jack was talking about and it’s definitely not a particle that’s nearby. It is a bright object and it’s obviously rotating because it’s flashing, it’s way out in the distance, certainly rotating in a very rhythmic fashion because the flashes come around almost on time. As we look back at the earth it’s up at about 11 o’clock, about maybe ten or twelve diame…Earth diameters. I don’t know whether that does you any good, but there’s something out there.”

L'objet observé était en réalité sans doute un étage supérieur de la fusée Saturne V qui a propulsé la mission, et qui a suivi une trajectoire proche de la capsule après séparation.

Apollo 17 fut la dernière mission du programme Apollo, et Eugene Cernan est le dernier homme a avoir marché sur la Lune.

BONUS

Le morceau est inspiré par la sortie extra-véhiculaire d’Edward White lors de la mission Gemini 4 (1965), qui fut la première de l'histoire américaine et la deuxième de l'histoire (après Alexei Leonov). Les communications entre l’astronaute et le contrôle mission entendues dans le morceau sont fictives, contrairement à ce qu’affirment certaines sources dont Wikipedia.
