Judge DreddRésumé : Drawing on the impact of the real-world ‘defund the police’ movement, in the dystopian future city of Mega-City One an accounts Judge called Maitland realises that, by taking funding from the vast police state apparatus of Justice Department and diverting it into education and housing, she could effectively wipe out crime. Such a radical message threatens the power of the Judges and if a large-scale experiment is successful then they could well be overthrown. Even as the experiment appears to work, powerful forces within Judges and the city will do everything in their power to destroy the better world it promises.
