Hmm, je me sens roulée. On m'avait vendu ce film comme un Very Bad Trip au féminin avec son lot de politiquement pas trop correct et de blagues pipi-popo-vomi.... En fait c'est une comédie romantique...

I think men and women react differently to this film. The first time I watched it I cried. I literally cried! Every woman has had to deal with a Helen and every woman has had that point in their young adulthood where they temporarily hit rock bottom, and this movie is a lot about Annie's struggles with that particular issue. Other than that, fantastic! Bridesmaids is very funny and very quotable.
Let me say that Melissa McCarthy makes this film what it is. She is what Zach Galifinakis is to The Hangover...Only much funnier! This woman can act. I would also go as far as to say that the entire team of women chosen for this film are great. A nice variety of crazy.
It's not everyday you get to see a film packed with women, who do the crazy sort of things that are in this film. From shitting in a sink to savagely destroying an entire party.
However...
The secret ingredient to Bridesmaids is Lillian marrying into a high class world, which is really throwing Annie off when she has to plan the wedding. She has been used to having her best friend in their own little circle of two, and not having to worry about "Keeping up appearances." Suddenly she is tossed into this world, while she herself can't even afford to pay rent. And to top things off Helen is introduced. Young, beautiful, and perfect Helen. Helen is a bit pathetic underneath the surface, but because Annie has hit rock bottom she cannot see that and lets her come between the friendship she has with Lillian. This is really irritating for a female watching the first time, but the second time my tears were only from laughter.
Watch this film and judge for yourself.

This documentary is quite short and to the point, but very well done. I first heard about "Peter Bergmann" on the Thinking Sideways radio show, and was pointed in the direction of this short film. ...
