Potential max

AFK Journey has incredible potential. The story is great, the art direction is beautiful, the game has plenty of content, and the overall F2P experience is very enjoyable. In many ways, it’s an excellent game.

Unfortunately, one major issue holds it back: the lack of customization and meaningful progression. For an idle game, you should really feel that your team is unique and evolving over time. Instead, most players end up using very similar teams, with very little difference between their characters and progression.

It’s a shame, because with deeper customization, more build variety, and stronger hero progression, AFK Journey could be truly exceptional. The potential is clearly there, but this lack of individuality is its biggest weakness.
