A puzzling and poetical read

It looks complex and messy but it totally makes sens. Citizen is an assemblage of textual and non-textual material where prose poetry suceeds to intriguing pictures meant to make Rankin's point more visually explicit. The use of the second-person narrative is moving and creates an acknowlegment between "you" the adressee and the author. This is the mode in which the Black experience of everyday racism is told in this amazing piece.
