This was not filmed in 1901. Burlingham wasn't filming as early as that. A copy may well have been left with the photographer in Zermatt in 1913 but it cannot have been the only copy and the film couldn't have been lost in a shipwreck because we know it was released. It was moreover not remotely the first film of an ascent of an alpine peak.
