Vu en salle.
A theatrical "psychological assault" on bourgeois façade (occasionally busy with the showbusiness world or the old Germany) focused on acting/dialogues and intrigue, this thriller is what you could expect from an actor's film up to its flat direction. Relatively efficient, it sadly accumulates one or two too many outbids while Daniel, the hero, makes a few too many turnabouts (constantly leaving only to stop/come back).
Unsurprisingly, the actor-director "parodies" (seriously) himself well. I didn't know the actor facing Brühl but he's quite good even when the film veers a bit too far into the declamatory style at times.
(There might be too many unnecessary winks at Brühl's real career though.)
