* "Take Five" est une pièce de jazz écrite par Paul Desmond et interprétée par le Dave Brubeck Quartet sur leur album de 1959 "Time Out". Enregistré aux studios Columbia de la 30e rue à New York en août 1959, ce morceau est devenu l’un des disques les plus connus du groupe, célèbre pour sa mélodie accrocheuse et distinctive du saxophone et pour son utilisation du quintuple inhabituel (5/4) de temps, à partir de laquelle son nom est dérivé. Bien que "Take Five" ne soit pas la première composition de jazz à utiliser ce compteur, il a été l’un des premiers aux États-Unis à atteindre une signification classique.
