Critique :

''Get Free'' est le dernier morceau du cinquième album studio de Lana Del Rey, Lust For Life. Initialement intitulé ''Malibu'', le morceau a été retravaillé en ''Get Free'' car Rey le trouvait trop personnel. Elle explique :

["Get Free"] a commencé par être très révélateur […] Je voulais résumer toute mon expérience au cours des six dernières années ; et puis j’ai réalisé que je ne voulais pas tout révéler.

Dans ''Get Free'', Lana tente de transformer son état d'esprit négatif en un état d'esprit plus positif. Elle réalise qu'elle a le choix entre le bonheur et la tristesse, et opte pour le premier. La chanson possède un rythme plus accordé en majeur que la plupart des chansons de l'album.

Comme elle reprend les mêmes progressions d'accords que ''Creep'' de Radiohead, Lana a été impliquée dans un litige avec les éditeurs de Radiohead concernant la reconnaissance de la composition de la chanson. Lana a déclaré le litige ''terminé'' lors d'un concert en mars 2018, et les crédits d'écriture n'ont pas été modifiés.
