The Art of Storytelling
The only thing that stopped me from giving this song a 10 is its ability to tear me apart on the inside. Yet at the same time that is the genius of the song, that it can affect you on such a level. I came across Steven Wilson's work by accident, and want to commend his brilliance...Yet, at the same time, I never want to listen to this song again.
The animated video is just beautiful, but as the story unfolds you keep searching for that happy ending. With Steven Wilson, you are not going to get that. However, this man truly has the gift of story telling. His voice and tone in the song play along very well with the lyrics.
