Critique :

Dans ''Wild At Heart'', Lana explore la liberté et la nature d'être sauvage avec son amant. Le titre de la chanson pourrait être une référence au film culte de David Lynch, ''Wild at Heart'', sorti en 1990. Lana et Lynch ont également exprimé leur admiration mutuelle dans les médias.

Le titre de la chanson est apparu sur la page Shazam de l'album, mais il a été confirmé plus tard, le 10 janvier 2021, qu'il s'agissait du cinquième titre de l'album, avec la tracklist officielle. Le morceau présente des samples vocaux parallèles à la ballade ''Love song'' de Norman Fucking Rockwell! et des extraits de ''How to disappear''.

Le 30 juillet 2019, Lana a partagé sur Twitter une allusion au titre de la chanson avec un collier qu'elle a fabriqué, sur lequel figurent les coordonnées de Los Angeles.
