This show is the reflection of an era where cultural stereotypes are still not considered offensive

Television programs should be responsible for what they show. Why? Because the reality is that most people will not be able to tell reality from fiction or exaggeration. This is how many damaging clichés and stereotypes have been created and are perpetuated.
This show is VERY insulting. It twists reality, makes shameless generalisations, over-exploits often unfounded clichés, makes a hideous and false depiction of a whole society. It portrays yanks the way they like themselves to be portrayed: sometimes naive and a bit dumb in a well-intentioned harmless way, but otherwise like sort of missionaries coming to a backward country to show the primitives their modern technology and the way things should be done, always ready to save the day. It looks like they are also indulging in some self-criticism, but always on traits that seem to be excusable.
Why instead of conforming people on the same old preconceived ideas wouldn’t they produce a show that tried helping overcoming them? Is it just not possible to make comedy without incurring on insulting another society and giving a whole world of viewers the wrong ideas about it?
