No seriously, i really really enjoyed it (bloody man tits aside ofc). 
The story of the game is really well transposed, you find all the elements that made the game such a good one, with just a few more depth and elements to add to the main character's bacsktory and flesh out the whole thing so it works as a full length movie. Talking about backstory (for both the character and the general story), i really liked how it was not fully explained, just the way the game is. You get the same feeling of having to dig into every detail and think about it to understand the whole thing, or you can decide to take just what the game and movie give you and walk away with that. It feels like it really did the game and its creator justice.

There was a lot of "artistic" shots and close ups and stuff (the water and blood dripping, close up shots of Mark's face...) that kind of made me feel like i was watching someone's art school project. It was a bit like they were telling me to "LOOK loooook at the shots we can do look how aesthetic our movie is !!" But i do admit most of the time they really added to the tension, and a lot of them are very clever, especially with the lights and how the scenographers and light technicians worked with them. 
You get grossly immersed in the set, trying to find little details in every corner and background to make sure you're not missing anything, any hint or foreshadowing element, like you might do when playing the game. 
I just thought they used one particular shot a bit too often (the character taking a pic, close up of his face being shocked at what he sees on the screen, new camera to show us the screen and the creature on the pic), it happened like 4 or 5 times, and after the second time you just know what to expect. 
I also did wonder at some point if they used lube for the water droplets like they did in Supernatural, they seemed to be a bit thicker than normal water...

The more "action" scenes were really well shot, i was really in it ! Idk what else to say, other than that they made me go WOOW !!!

The line delivery was really good also ?? I'm not saying Mark can't act, but it's not something i really pay attention to in movies (except when it's bad) but here it really made me go "wow ! that guy is good with his character !". You really get the visceral dread and fear, the raw anger of the character, the deep anguish and desperation of him and the other characters¹. And while some monologues seemed a bit too poetic and extravagant (all about the stars and shit), the characters' actual lines sounded true and natural, kind of exactly like people would talk in these situations²

Overall, i also really liked how you can take it for exactly what it is (a cool horror movie about an ocean of blood and the scary things in it) but also dig deeper to find a meaning that applies to you. The inhuman treatment of convicts, the exploitation of workers who are nothing but expendable pieces to be used (again, especially in the context of convicts and prison labor), the religious and not religious (but borderline religious, really) desperation to find meaning in anything... Idk there's probably like 10 other themes you can find in this movie but those are the one that came to me while watching it.

I was also pleasantly surprised by the french subtitles ! I had seen people talk about screenings in Belgium and how they had english subtitles, so i was expecting the same, but no ! The international teams worked really hard to translate the whole movie and make sure it was accessible to the most people. Not really about the movie but it was nice to see that people are so invested in every part of this movie and its distribution.
