I watched Scarface for the first time yesterday and it really stuck with me. It’s a film that hits you me like a three-hour adrenaline rush and somehow still leaves a hollow feeling at the end. It’s flashy and over-the-top, but underneath all the neon and bravado is a story about isolation and self-destruction that sneaks up on you. Tony Montana isn’t someone you admire. He’s someone you watch unravel in slow motion. The movie doesn’t judge him; it just lets him implode. That honesty is what stuck with me.
