The Florida Project shows a single mother hustling and struggling to survive in the US south. It's a very accurate and depressing look at what happens to most young families that find themselves living in that area. But Sean Baker being Sean Baker really makes this dire situation so beautiful with its scenery and visuals.
Maybe it's because I'm from cold and cloudy Nova Scotia, but seeing the sunshine and palm trees pop in an aero fruitger aesthetic brings me a certain type of joy.
