''Fun Tonight'' est une chanson qui parle de la lutte contre les pensées négatives. C'est le sixième titre solo extrait du très attendu sixième album studio de Lady Gaga, Chromatica. Son style s'inscrit dans un registre house-pop similaire à celui du reste de l'album.

La rumeur disait également que la chanson parlait de l'ex-fiancé de Gaga, Christian Carino. Mais Gaga a ensuite précisé qu'elle parlait d'elle-même.

La chanson a été révélée avec la liste des titres du sixième album studio de Lady Gaga, Chromatica.
