Vu sur mk2 Curiosity, best-of estival, "Sur le chemin du retour".
Theatre and reality, spy conspiration or paranoïa have been tangled together to make a somber film that looks like a randomly put together american 50s thriller documenting Paris 60s street and youth (but more often their flats), with a look crossing the Nouvelle Vague and those US flicks the Cahiers were fond of.
Lacking any coherence despite what the background thread seems to say, its 2hours wandering is made worse by the amateurish theatrical acting of most actors.

100% sure I missed the point of making this film. Especially seeing how much it informs what Rivette's comrades would do.
I admit I ended up losing attention before the halfway so my impression doesn't mean a lot.
